A close-the-loop draft is a short proactive follow-up the AI prepares for the customer who originally asked, letting them know what they raised has been resolved or shipped. Like every AI draft, it lands in the composer for you to review and send. It is never sent automatically.
The AI prepares a close-the-loop follow-up when a thread is marked Completed:
manually, when you mark the thread done, or
automatically, when a linked Linear issue or roadmap project ships.
The draft greets the requester, references what they asked about, and tells them it is now handled, grounded in the same sources as your other AI drafts.
Make sure AI drafts are turned on (see Auto AI-Drafts).
In the AI drafts settings, turn on Send close-the-loop drafts.
Close-the-loop drafts require the Pro or Scale plan.
Open the completed thread and the follow-up is waiting in the composer with a Drafted by AI badge. Edit it to match the customer's history, then send. Closing the loop this way keeps customers informed when their request ships, on your wording and your timing.
