Notifications

Notification settings

Notification settings control how and when Productlane pings you personally, across two channels: Slack and email. Every toggle is per user, so your choices affect only your own notifications, not your teammates'.

Where to find it

Settings > Notifications (near the top of the settings sidebar). It is a personal page, available to every member. A "How it works" button in the header opens the related help article.

Channels

The page has two sections. Slack comes first, then Email.

Slack notifications

If your account is not connected to Slack, this section shows a "Connect Slack" button. Clicking it starts the Slack authorization flow for personal notifications. Once connected, a green "Connected to {team name}" badge appears and the toggles below become available.

Slack toggles are grouped into "Threads assigned to you" and "All threads".

Threads assigned to you

Follow-up message

Notifies you in Slack when someone follows up on a thread assigned to you.

Assignment changes

Notifies you in Slack when the assignment of one of your threads changes.

Comment created

Notifies you in Slack when a new comment is added to one of your threads.

All threads

New thread

Notifies you in Slack when a new thread is created in the workspace.

Comment mentions

Notifies you in Slack when someone mentions you in a comment.

Unassigned thread replies

Notifies you in Slack when someone replies to a thread that has no assignee.

Email notifications

Email toggles are grouped into "Feedback and Threads" and "Content and Summaries".

Feedback and Threads

New feedback

Emails you when new feedback is submitted.

New replies

Emails you when someone replies to a thread assigned to you.

Comment mentions

Emails you when you are mentioned in a comment.

Assignment changes

Emails you when thread assignments change.

Unassigned thread replies

Emails you when someone replies to a thread that has no assignee.

Content and Summaries

New Changelog draft

Emails you when a new changelog draft is created.

Daily summary of new upvotes

Sends a daily email summarizing upvotes on your portal.

How to set up notifications

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.

  2. To use Slack notifications, click "Connect Slack" and complete the authorization. After connecting, turn on the Slack toggles you want under "Threads assigned to you" and "All threads".

  3. Under Email, turn on the toggles you want in "Feedback and Threads" and "Content and Summaries".

  4. Each toggle takes effect immediately; there is no Save button.

Notes

  • Every toggle saves the instant you flip it.

  • Slack toggles are available only after you connect Slack for personal notifications. Without the connection you see the "Connect Slack" button instead of the toggles.

  • Slack and email are independent channels. For overlapping events (comment mentions, assignment changes, unassigned thread replies), you can enable one channel, both, or neither.

  • These settings are personal. Workspace-wide Slack routing and shared channel notifications are configured elsewhere in Settings.
