Tags sort your threads by theme. Tag groups hold related tags together, so you can see how often each theme comes up.

Tag groups to start with

Tags suit patterns worth tracking before they turn into work. A Linear issue fits work you already plan to do.

Tag a thread

Open a thread and press T to add a tag. Press G then T to open the Tags page, where you manage tags and tag groups.

Routines tag new threads for you, reusing the tags you already have.

Turn a tag into a Linear issue or project

Open a tag and convert it to a Linear issue or project. Every thread under the tag stays linked to the new issue or project.
