When you publish a Changelog or send an update from a project or issue, contacts are automatically notified via the in-app widget. The "Notify contacts via the in-app widget" toggle is always on and appears in the publish/send-update modal.
To turn off widget changelog notifications, click Widget settings in the modal (or go to Settings → Widget) and disable the changelog notification option there. See the Widget article for details on the disableChangelogNotification option.
Send changelog updates to all customer Slack Connect channels where the Productlane Slackbot is installed for a more personal way to stay in touch with customers. Together with the AI changelog generation, this is now the fastest way from closing a Linear issue to informing customers.
Note: Slack broadcasts include only the text content of your changelog up to the first image or video. Any images or videos embedded in the changelog are sent as separate Slack messages after the text.
Send emails directly from Productlane when updating an issue, project, or publishing a Changelog. Notify everyone who provided feedback or upvoted, or email the entire workspace. Emails are sent from your connected support address, and users can unsubscribe from broadcasts at any time. Just start by clicking Publish on the Changelog or Send update on project and issue details.
If your workspace uses Multiple Portals and the changelog you are publishing is assigned to a named portal, the send-update modal pre-fills the sender name with that portal's name instead of the workspace name. The email also uses that portal's logo if one is set, falling back to the workspace logo otherwise.
You can still type a custom sender name in the modal, this always takes priority over the portal or workspace name.
Changelogs assigned to the Main portal (or workspaces without Multiple Portals enabled) keep using the workspace name and logo as before.
The sender name field in the send-update modal defaults to your workspace name. If the changelog, project, or issue is assigned to a specific portal (see Multiple Portals), it defaults to that portal's name instead, since customers on that portal know it by that name. You can always override the sender name before sending.
